Obama to Hire Keith Olbermann As Press Secretary? (Video)

What was that post partisan vision that candidate Barack Obama espoused? Oh yeah, if elected, a President Obama would bring forth: "A nation healed. A world repaired. An America that believes again."

It was a ridiculously grade-school level promise that made me roll my eyes, in proud Al Gore style, each and every single one of the many times that the allegedly progressive candidate made it. Silly, absurd, laughable, childish, and all broken promises aside, one would hope that there are some adults in the White House. Alas, grade-school level mockery and derision from the podium of the President of the United States does not inspire confidence. This is Camelot?

"Many in the room, where President Barack Obama had spoken just moments before about the need for bipartisanship, groaned at the political shot."

The President needs to listen to the many voices urging him to implement a little change by replacing the campaign staff in the West Wing with people who have actual experience governing. Obama can begin to "fix the dysfunction" by replacing Robert Gibbs with someone who can offer enlightened critiques of abysmal right-wing policy and contrast it with an actual progressive vision. He should replace Gibbs with someone who can leave the mockery and derision to the likes of Keith Olbermann.

"If current trends continue, this once mesmerizing Camelot-ish operation will be be seen in the history books as the presidential administration that -- to distort slightly and inversely paraphrase Churchill -- never have so many talented people managed to achieve so little with so much."
