So Howard Dean claims that the infamous rules of the Democratic Party are clear; there is no question about whether Hillary Rodham Clinton will be on the ballot at the convention. People who suggest otherwise might be Republicans.
Chris Bowers at Open Left reports:
When asked about the ads criticizing him and Speaker Pelosi for Clinton supposedly not being on the ballot at the convention, he scoffed. Clinton will be on the ballot at the convention, and will be speaking there. Dean indicated that the rules were so clear on this matter, that the groups running these ads and spreading these rumors must be associated with the other internet rumors going around, such as Obama being a Muslim. He also speculated that McCain supporters might be behind these rumors.
Sounds good. Except for the fact that for weeks now the media has been reporting that Hillary's name on the ballot is not assured, rather the question will be determined by negotiations between the Clinton and Obama camps. ABC News reported that Hillary Clinton herself said as much. Donna Brazile said the question of putting Hillary's name on the ballot "is a 'bone of contention' in the negotiations between the Clinton and Obama camps."
Ahem. When it comes to the clearness of the Democratic Party rules, exactly who are you gonna believe? Nice try, Howard Dean. The PUMAS will still see you and Donna in Denver.

Call to Hillary Supporters: Take Action on Saturday, July 19
"There has been an enormous amount of sexism in this campaign on the part of the media, including the mainstream media. . What you don't get over is deep wounds that have been inflicted on somebody because they happen to be a woman running for president of the United States."
