Below are video-clips part 1 and 2 of Amy Siskind's speech at the May 31st Count Every Vote Rally in D.C. Amy Siskind informs Howard Dean and the Democratic Party that Democratic women and men will stay home in November, or support another candidate, in response to the party's failure to condemn the media misogyny. They will stay home or cast a protest vote in response to the Democratic Party's failure to stand up for women's rights, the party's failure to count every vote, or the party's failure to represent the values of the Democratic wing of the Democratic Party.
A message to Howard Dean and the DNC:
You sat "idly by while the first serious female candidate was called a 'hellish housewife' a 'she-devil' a 'white bitch,' a 'monster' and a 'whore' (etcetera).
. . Howard Dean -- I am not your sweetie. . . Democratic Party -- I am no longer your faithful servant. You have turned away from the ideals of our party. When did the DNC think it would be okay to turn a blind eye to sexism?
Howard Dean, here is the plain simple truth. You will Not have my vote and I am hardly alone. . The DNC has turned away from the values we hold dear . . The DNC has abandoned equality . . The DNC has turned away from letting every voice be heard. .
Howard Dean . . I and millions of men and women are not your sweeties. You have betrayed us, our children, and our future. And you will learn the new meaning of stay-at-home moms [crowd chants "We Will Remember in November"].
