Colbert Nails the One Percent Doctrine

Ron Suskind was on the Stephen Colbert Report last night. God, I love Stephen Colbert.

On the subject of the One Percent Doctrine - Cheney's view that if there is a one percent chance that someone is a threat - s/he must be treated as a certain threat, Colbert responded:

"One percent? Shouldn’t it be a zero percent doctrine? I mean even if there’s no chance that someone’s a threat to the United States, and they just look at us funny, shouldn’t we just--[beats a fist into his palm]--tag ’em?"

Go see the video!

People won't quit talking about the One Percent Doctrine: "If you want to know some of the secrets about what the United States is doing to track terrorist assets, read Suskind's book." --and -- "Why Oh Why Are We Ruled by These Morons? Impeach George W. Bush. Impeach him now. You know, it would be so nice to have a real president."

These sound like glowing reviews to me. I'm still waiting for my copy to arrive in the mailbox, dammit.
