Plame Sues Cheney, Rove, Libby
I hope this means the devious trio of Cheney, Rove & Libby will be testifying under oath. Oh, please god, let there be cameras in the courtroom.
Raw Story reports: "Valerie Plame, the undercover CIA operative whose identity was revealed to reporters, has filed suit against Vice President Dick Cheney, former top presidential policy adviser Karl Rove, and Cheney's ex-chief of staff I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby on Thursday, RAW STORY has learned.
Plame is reportedly accusing the men of conspiring against her, targeting her career and reputation. . ."
Talking Points Memo has the full, 23-page complaint:
Wilsons' Suit against Karl Rove, Scooter Libby and Vice President Dick Cheney, 07-13-2006
Here's a statement from Joe Wilson. And here's the Wilson website.
Update: From the AP - The lawsuit accuses Cheney, Libby, Rove and 10 unnamed administration officials or political operatives of putting the Wilsons and their children's lives at risk by exposing Plame.
"This lawsuit concerns the intentional and malicious exposure by senior officials of the federal government of ... (Plame), whose job it was to gather intelligence to make the nation safer and who risked her life for her country," the Wilsons' lawyers said in the lawsuit.
Specifically, the lawsuit accuses the White House officials of violating the Wilsons' constitutional rights to equal protection and freedom of speech. It also accuses the officials of violating the couple's privacy rights.
