Rovegate: Bush Has Always Known

Josh Marshall has some interesting info about the credibility of Thomas DeFrank. DeFrank is the author of the New York Daily News article that everyone is still talking about. The article says that Bush has known for years about Karl Rove's role in the CIA leak case.

WASHINGTON - An angry President Bush rebuked chief political guru Karl Rove two years ago for his role in the Valerie Plame affair, sources told the Daily News.

"He made his displeasure known to Karl," a presidential counselor told The News. "He made his life miserable about this."

Bush has known since the very beginning.

In other words, Bush is a co-conspirator and a liar. No wonder the pResident didn't want to testify under oath.

"We're looking at the time line," said a top Senate Democratic strategist. "The same month Bush reprimands Rove, he tells the American people he doesn't know whether anybody in the White House was involved, and now we learn otherwise."

On Sept. 30, 2003 - the same month Bush rebuked Rove - the President said, "I don't know of anybody in my administration who leaked classified information."

Josh Marshall says Thomas DeFrank's "access is unique in Washington," and his credentials are such that this article carries serious weight.

Can pResidents be indicted?
