Democrats May Pass Healthcare Bill Without GOP

Finally Democrats appear to be waking up to the fact that no matter how much they compromise core Democratic principles, Republicans will never ever support meaningful health care reform.

CNN reported last night (and the NY Times today) that Dems are seriously talking about a nuclear option or the reconciliation process whereby the bill would be rammed through with 51 senate votes.

Whatever work it takes to twist Blue Dog arms has got to be a hell of lot easier than negotiating with GOPers. Twisting arms is Rahm’s specialty. He should get to it.

“The Republican leadership,” Mr. Emanuel said, “has made a strategic decision that defeating President Obama’s health care proposal is more important for their political goals than solving the health insurance problems that Americans face every day.”
