The shameful Democratic primary that turned so many lives upside down and awakend so many women to the depth of the misogyny has come and gone.
Yet still, we have all-male panels on CNN telling us little wimin that the sexism is all in our heads.
In the video clip below, a woman reporter, Samantha Hayes appears for a minute to report the facts: As far as the Obama team is concerned, Obama speech writer Jon Favreau has apologized, Hillary has accepted said apology, and the matter is over. Samantha Hayes is then dismissed, and an all-male panel appears and proceeds to tell us all about their all important opinions. The men discuss Jon Favreau's sexism without once using the term sexism.
James Carville explains that Favreau is just a guy who was having a good time at a party. Carville says the women at The New Agenda need to get a new agenda because this guy was just having a good time, and he did absolutely nothing wrong. Favreau was having a good time like 27 year olds do, and Carville hopes to be doing the same thing when he's 67.
Wolf Blitzer laughs, and is amazed that they are even discussing such a trivial matter. The Republican pundit compares Favreau's 'funny' date rape skit to jaywalking. The men joke about their own comparable good-old-boy indiscretions. Carville concludes that Favreau has nothing to apologize for, absolutely nothing. All Favreau did was fondle a piece of cardboard. The men snicker.
And there you have it folks. The important people, the men, have decided it for us. And any women who disagree are not worth listening to. Else CNN would have included some of us on the panel. Else Jon Favreau would have apologized to us. Else President-Elect Obama would have condemned the sexism. Our voices don't matter. Just like in the 1950s, the men are the deciders.
