The New Politics: Obama Adviser Calls Hillary a 'Monster'

So much for 'change we can believe in.' Samantha Power, yet another of Obama's talkative senior foreign policy advisers, just brought the political discourse down to the Zell Miller level by calling Hillary Rodham Clinton 'a monster':

"She is a monster, too – that is off the record – she is stooping to anything. Interestingly, the people in her innermost circle seem to not mind her; I think they really love her. You just look at her and think: ergh. But if you are poor and she is telling you some story about how Obama is going to take your job away, maybe it will be more effective. The amount of deceit she has put forward is really unattractive."

Power is "widely described as more in tune with [Obama] than any of his Washington advisers." The worrisome significance of that fact aside, I'm not sure where the candidate representing the new politics of hope gets his advisers, but he surely does have some problems: Susan Rice; Samantha Power; Austin Goolsbee.

Obama's camp continues to impress in the department of inexperienced and unprepared. Earlier this week, Obama's foreign policy adviser Susan Rice said that Senator Barack Obama's foreign policy credentials do not qualify him to deal with an international crisis!

Well, it's even worse than that -- Rice said, on national television, that neither of the Democratic candidates have the necessary credentials: “They’re both not ready to have that 3 a.m. phone call." Obviously, Ms. Rice is only qualified to speak for Senator Obama.

Susan Rice: Obama's Not Qualified

The Obama campaign has renounced and rejected Samantha Power's missive of hate, and she has apologized.

No word yet on whether Ms. Power will continue to work for Mr. Hope.

"I do not want to see research that is involved in trying to tear people down personally. If I find out that somebody is doing that, they will be fired." [via]

Update: Samantha Power has resigned.
