Congressman Cohen (TN) to Appear on Colbert Report
Oh gawd, now I can never miss an episode of the Colbert Report again. Tennessee's flaming liberal Congressman will be on the Better Know a District feature. But we don't know when the show will air.
Memphis Appeal:
WASHINGTON -- Against the advice of friends and fellow Congress members, U.S. Rep. Steve Cohen, D-Tenn., mixed it up with Comedy Central's Stephen Colbert on Friday, explaining, among other things, why he votes like a black woman. . .
The air date for the segment of the show that Colbert calls "Better Know a District" is pending. . .
Colbert and his staff had done their homework. Cohen was asked about his proposed Women's Restroom Equity Act, a bill Cohen pushed in the state Senate in 2000 that would have provided more women's facilities in public buildings, and a bill Cohen sponsored to put a bitter element in antifreeze to discourage animals from drinking it. . .
Colbert showed Cohen his collection of political buttons, including an "Impeach Al Franken," the liberal comedian and talk-show host considering a run for the Senate in Minnesota. In reply, Cohen said he flipped his jacket lapel over to show Colbert his hidden "Member of the Colbert Nation" pin.
