And the Jackgate plot thickens. Think Progress has obtained emails in which Jack Abramoff reveals that Bushie knows him far better than the Boy King has as yet admitted.
But then we know our pResident is no George Washington. King George could never pass a lie detector test.
On January 25th, Bushie said he couldn't recall ever meeting Abramoff.
You know, I, frankly, don’t even remember having my picture taken with the guy. I don’t know him.
Yet, in emails written to the national editor of Washingtonian magazine, Abramoff reveals that he met with Bush "in almost a dozen settings." In fact, Abramoff says he was personally invited to Bushie's ranch in Crawford, Texas.
In the following email, Abramoff points out that Bushie is known for having an outstanding memory.
HE HAS ONE OF THE BEST MEMORIES OF ANY POLITICIAN I HAVE EVER MET. IT WAS ONE IF [sic] HIS TRADEMARKS, THOUGH OF COURSE HE CAN’T RECALL THAT HE HAS A GREAT MEMORY! THE GUY SAW ME IN ALMOST A DOZEN SETTINGS, AND JOKED WITH ME ABOUT A BUNCH OF THINGS, INCLUDING DETAILS OF MY KIDS. PERHAPS HE HAS FORGOTTEN EVERYTHING. WHO KNOWS.
Bushie forgot that he has a good memory. Funny! In other words, our pResident has been caught in yet another lie. Now that Abramoff is talking, perhaps he will help refresh the absentminded pResident's memory by releasing the famed Bush/Abramoff photos.
