DALLAS (BP)--In 1989, the same-year she was elected to a seat on the Dallas City Council, Supreme Court nominee Harriet Miers gave $150 to the pro-life organization Texans for Life, a group that favors ending legalized abortion.
The donation was enough to earn Miers a spot in the "bronze level" of contributors for that year, as well to place her name on the program at the group's annual banquet. At the time the organization was known as Texans United for Life.

And from Pro Life Blog:
World Magazine editor Marvin Olasky interviewed Nathan Hecht, the Texas Supreme Court justice who is a pro-life hero for strongly supporting parental notification. Hecht is a friend of Supreme Court justice nominee Harriet Miers and served as an elder in her church.
Related to her stand on abortion, here is what Hecht said:
On abortion, choosing his words carefully for an on-the-record statement, he says "her personal views are consistent with that of evangelical Christians... You can tell a lot about her from her decade of service in a conservative church."
There's more from Hecht here.
Big surprise, she's a fundie.
And as others have reported:
When the American Bar Association adopted an official policy in support of abortion rights, it was Miers -- more than anyone else -- who led the fight to get the policy undone."
