Rehnquist Resigned Today: White House Delays Announcement - Blogger Buzz

If you're sick of this on-again-off-again story, well, blame Bush.

RedState.org reports that Rehnquist did indeed retire today.

According to Wonkette's source, the White House has simply chosen to delay the announcement in order to keep the news focused on terrorism.

Now that I believe.

Redstate.org reports:

"Update [2005-7-8 17:20:42 by Erick]: William Rehnquist, Chief Justice of the United States, has retired. A White House statement is forthcoming. Should caveat this: A very good source says this.
"

See Fox News for more on Rehnquist coyness. When asked by reporters if he was stepping down, the Chief Justice said: "That's for me to know and you to find out." Rehnquist has been enjoying all the attention.
