New York Governor: "They Scanned the Globe and Couldn't Find a Woman . ."

Feminist Quote of the Day

"What we really wanted to do is just publicly acknowledge ... the disappointing fact that they spanned the globe and couldn't find a woman in New York state that was qualified to serve as the chief judge. . Because we're citizens of a state in addition to being public servants, we're outraged"
-- New York Gov. David Paterson

The Governor was outraged that he was asked to choose a chief judge from a list of seven men. Gov. Paterson said that something is rotten about a selection process that comes up with an all male list of nominees for chief judge. He added that the process "has to be called into question." The Governor asked Attorney General Cuomo "to investigate legal alternatives."
