Senate Approves Anti-Gay & Racist Judge -- for Southern States

How bad can he be, you ask? Here's a clue, Bush called Judge Southwick's confirmation "a victory for . . the citizens of Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas."

Nine Democrats crossed party lines to vote with Republicans and Lieberman for the homophobic and racist judge.

Isn't it funny how Bush gets everything he wants and Democrats get the blame?

Mississippi Judge Leslie Southwick was promoted to the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals with the Senate's vote of 59-38.

Barack Obama said: "Southwick has shown hostility toward civil rights and a disregard for equal rights for minorities, women, gays and lesbians."

Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and Ben Nelson (D-NE) crossed party lines to vote for the notorious judge because California and Nebraska are a long way from Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas.

Democrats who voted to confirm Judge Southwick were Dianne Feinstein of California; Ben Nelson of Nebraska; Daniel Akaka of Hawaii; Robert C. Byrd of West Virginia; Tim Johnson of South Dakota; Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor, both of Arkansas; and Kent Conrad and Byron Dorgan, both of North Dakota.
