Woman Dies, After Being Denied Abortion

A pregnant woman died in pain and agony in a hospital after that Catholic hospital in Ireland refused to provide her with a life-saving abortion.

This was after the doctors had already told her the fetus would not survive!

And that folks is what happens when you mix religion with medicine and/or politics:

Savtia Halappanavar, a 31-year-old dentist, was 17 weeks pregnant when she was hospitalized with severe complications. Her husband says that after she was told her fetus would not survive, she asked for a medical termination but was denied one because a fetal heartbeat was present. She spent two more days in agony before the heartbeat stopped and died of septicemia soon afterward.
She was told nothing could be done because this is Catholic country:

Even though Halappanavar, a Hindu, was emphatic that she was neither Irish nor Catholic, and even though she developed shakes and shivering and was vomiting, the hospital said there was nothing to be done.
