What the Obama Administration is Doing to End School Segregation

Cue that SNL skit. Many of us are still reeling in shock from the Obama Administration's continuation of the Bush/Cheney education (sic) policies. And like Bush/Cheney, the current Administration is so far doing nothing to address racial segregation in the schools. Obviously, there's a lot more to being a post racial nation than putting a black man into the White House.

Dana Goldstein reminds us:

So far, the Obama administration's commitment to lessening school segregation is no commitment at all -- it's just talk. And by the way, it's not "many" American kids who are segregated, it's nearly half. Forty percent of black children, for example, sit each day in classrooms that are 90 to 100 percent black.
