'Don't Ask Don't Tell' Targets Women

"I will end 'don't ask, don't tell.' That's my commitment to you," promised President Obama in a recent speech before the Human Rights Campaign. And any time he feels like it, he can go ahead and do that.

The Commander-in-Chief can stop the outrageous DADT witch-hunts, all by himself, any time he feels like it. We are waiting.

(WOMENSENEWS)--Lesbians are up to three times more likely than other military personnel to be discharged from the military under the "don't ask, don't tell policy," which bans openly gay men, lesbians and bisexual service members, the Associated Press reported Oct. 8. .

In 2008, female service members from every branch of the military were discharged at disproportionate rates under the policy. However, this was particularly true in the Air Force, where women represent 20 percent of the personnel. Under the policy, women received 56 of the 90 total Air Force discharges--61 percent of the firings.
