The leaders of the Congressional Progressive Caucus sent Obama a letter today warning him, again, that they will not vote for a health care bill that does not have a strong public option: “A health reform bill without a robust public option will not achieve the health reform this country so desperately needs. We cannot vote for anything less.”
Co-leaders Lynn Woolsey and Raul Grijalva urged Obama to support a public option in his speech next week. The Progressive Caucus leaders reportedly "demanded" a face to face meeting with President Obama.
"I will support nothing short of a robust public health insurance plan upon implementation, no triggers."
"A bill without a strong public option will not pass the House."
