Justice Sunday II: Welcoming the Wingnuts to Nashville

Plans are in the works to 'welcome' all the religious right wingnuts coming here to Nashville for the sequel to Justice Sunday. (See Justice Sunday II: Birth Controllers to Party in Nashville)

Drive Democracy, Faith Voices for the Common Good, Alliance for Justice, and others are organizing an event to counter Justice Sunday II: God Save This Honorable Court — the sequel to Injustice Sunday - August 14.

From DriveDemocracy.org:

The extremists on the Christian Right are at it again. They'll be in Nashville on August 14 for "Justice Sunday II," which should be called "Theocracy, Not Democracy."

When they, led by Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, tried to intimidate the nation with their "Justice Sunday" event last April, DriveDemocracy, sponsored the Freedom AND Faith: Louisville rally just across town. We were covered by all the networks, and the nation could see there were hardworking Americans of several faiths who oppose the Christian Right threat to democracy."

The details for the above event are still in the works, as are plans by local groups for demonstrations outside the theocratic event.

For sure, we'll want to give an extra special big welcome to infamous antifeminist Phyllis Schlafly.
