A Census worker in rural Kentucky was found dead, his body swinging from a tree with the word "FED" written on the man's chest. The FBI is investigating the obvious question of anti government motivation. The Census Bureau has suspended census interviews in the area. Bill Sparkman was a part-time census worker and a teacher.
I can recall a time when reporters purposively stayed away from KKK parades in order to avoid doing the KKK a favor by spreading their message of hate. The wisdom of those bad old days is long gone. Today reporters routinely bring us images and interviews of crazy people who walk around in public proudly displaying images of Adolf Hitler. Today we have cable news and talk radio where seemingly every sick message of hate is beamed across the planet 24/7.
