Obama Fans Furious About Hillary's Appearance on ABC's George Stephanopoulos
Maybe it's Hillary's dramatic surge in the polls, or maybe some Obama fans are simply stark raving mad, but whatever the reason, heads are seriously imploding over at the Daily Obama.
Two days before the Indiana primary, Hillary Rodham Clinton will appear in a live Town Hall Forum on ABC's "This Week with George Stephanopoulos." The forum will be broadcast live from Indiana, and will include questions from North Carolina voters.
In a rant with some 600 comments, Daily Obama diarist Hope08 screams:
ACTION ALERT For IN Kossacks Breaking: Free ABC Townhall for Hillary on Sunday!! [Updatex3]
I am calling on all Indiana kossacks to get a group together and balance out the voters in Townhall. If ABC News attempts to stack the room with only Clinton supporters we'll know the true nature of this network. Is this legal? Politico is reporting that "This Week" on ABC will hold a Hillary Townhall on Sunday . . .
Is this legal??? Well, gee, what country are we living in?
Hope08 even has a poll and some 54% of 3,000 kossacks opine that it is NOT legal and NOT ethical for Hillary Rodham Clinton to appear on teevee!
Or "Free ABC airtime 2 days before the primary" is NOT legal!
Here's an inconvenient fact for the furious fans of Obama: This is America. And in America, there is no law, yet, against presidential candidates appearing on television. Here's another fun fact: While Hillary is getting her "free ABC airtime," Obama will be getting his "free NBC airtime" simultaneously on Tim Russert's Meet the Press.
And, um, ABC actually made the same offer to Obama.
For some unexplained reason, Hillary supporters are not throwing baby fits of rage about Obama's "free air time." Maybe that's because Hillary's supporters have actually read things like the Constitution. Maybe that's because Hillary supporters have better things to do than show up at Obama's events for the sole purpose of indulging in temper tantrums and boo-ing the candidate.
