Nevada Debate: Democrats Win. Moderators Lose.


Democrats looked good last night. The 'we're family' debate was sorely needed after the recent squabbles. It was a relief to hear from Obama that he regretted that his campaign staff actually pushed a fairy-tale narrative that framed the Clintons as racially insensitive.

Sens. Obama and Clinton both agreed that their supporters go too far.

While the 3 Democratic presidential contenders were reminding everyone that we are all on the same team and we all lose if we forget it, the moderators were generally obtuse. In the first part of the debate we basically learned that Obama is not a Muslim, Hillary is not a racist and moderators Tim Russert and Brian Williams are idiots.

Presumably all of this, along with the questions emailed from voters was meant to appease those of us who remembered that the debate theme was "issues important to minority voters."

Again I ask, why are two white men in charge of framing the questions at an event advertised as the Black/Brown Democratic Debate?
