The Republican Retirement Party

Quote of the Day

“I don’t like being in the minority. It’s not that much fun, and the prospects for the future don’t look that good.”
-- Rep. Ray LaHood (R-Ill.)

Yeah, why should conservative white men ever have to be in the minority? And by 'prospects for the future,' does Rep. LaHood mean the 2008 Democratic landslide? Or does the Republican fear that he may one day be forced to join his GOP brothers in prison?

Congressman Ray LaHood is having so little fun that the Republican will retire after this term.

"So far in the GOP, five senators and 12 House members have announced they will retire. Among Democrats, no one in the Senate is retiring, and two have said they will leave the House -- to run for the Senate."

See who's retiring. And then there's the rumor that Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-TN) may retire in order to take a job at Vanderbilt. Oh, please, let it be true.
