Larry Craig (R) Slams Romney (R)
In an interview with NBC's Matt Lauer, Senator Larry Craig (R-Idaho) bitterly denounced presidential candidate Mitt Romney for abandoning him after the infamous arrest for trolling for sex in the men's room was revealed.
"After Craig’s arrest in a men’s restroom at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport was reported in August, Romney issued a statement saying Craig had stepped down from his campaign, but Craig made it clear that the choice was not his."
“'I was very proud of my association with Mitt Romney. I’d worked hard for him here in the state. I was a co-chair of his campaign on Capitol Hill. He not only threw me under his campaign bus, he backed up and ran over me again,' Craig said."
Senator Craig's interview with Matt Lauer will air Tuesday night on NBC at 8 p.m. ET. The prime time interview also includes the senator's wife, Suzanne Craig.
And to the sound of polite applause and some hoots, the embattled Larry Craig has been inducted into the Idaho Hall of Fame (video).
Lusty Larry promises to keep this sensational story alive right up to election day 2008. The Republican Senator vows that he will return to court to appeal his case.
