White House Tries to Ward Off Subpoenas
With the threat of subpoenas imminent, the White House has deigned to permit Congress to talk to Rove and Miers behind closed doors.
The White House will not permit the duo to testify under oath, and no transcript will be allowed.
Gee, why doesn't the talking White House just come right out and say that it has something to hide?
Appearing less than amused, Senator Chuck Schumer said, "That’s fine. Let’s have a conversation under oath, with a transcript."
Schumer added, "We'll proceed with subpoenas on Thursday."
