The Tennessean editorializes on Councilman Crafton's English-only proposal:
The lawsuits should be filed against Councilman Eric Crafton, not just city government. Because there are going to be lawsuits.
Crafton, bless his little short-sighted self, is trying to capitalize on the current anti-immigrant sentiment sweeping our sanctimonious nation and gain political favor by forbidding [Nashville] city services be delivered in anything but English. . .
Do we really want to be a city where the 911 operators are forbidden to find a way to help a raped woman because she doesn't speak the King's English?
Crafton's proposed law is a lawsuit waiting to happen.
