Update #3: Chris at TNIMC reports that he's never seen so much media interest in a Nashville protest! Directions: Take Briley Parkway toward Opryland. Take the Opryland exit (McGavock Pike/Music Valley Drive) toward the main entrance to Opryland. We will be gathered at the entrance to Opryland which is just a few hundred feet from the Interstate exit beginning at 10am. (The nearest restrooms are in the Applebees and the Country Restaurant.) Parking on both corners opposite protest.

Update #2: The Bush-in-Nashville Protest will be held at the entrance to Opryland at the Intersection of McGavock and Music Valley Drive. (That seems pretty damn close to His Highness, but that is the official word. Nevertheless, stay tuned for possible moves to free speech zones fifty miles down the road.)

Bushie will be giving his SOTU performance the night before he arrives in Nashville. In the SOTU speech, Bushie will speak of the need "for us to have a discourse without anger." Yeah, the Boy King sounds just like the guy who rapes you and slaps you around on the first date and then calls back the next night to ask you out again. Sorry Bushie, you're going to see some righteous rage here in Nashville! (And congratulations on your progress in that vocabulary class.)

Update #1 - The Anti-Bush protest will be held from 10:00am - Noon, Opryland Hotel, Feb. 1, 2006.

The pResident is coming! The pResident is coming!

In preparation for this regal event, legions of Tennessee citizens are busily painting their rage on to protest signs.

The King will appear in Nashville on the morning after his State of the Union speech.

Invitations to hear Bushie speak are going out to Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and other business leaders. According to the local paper, business leaders are invited but the topic of Bushie's speech is a secret.

The newspaper doesn't say where or when Bushie will speak cuz it's another secret, but the emails flooding my inbox say he'll be at:

The Grand Ole Opry Theater (part of Opryland Hotel) at 11:50am, Wednesday Feb 1.

According to one source, Bushie will be speaking to the American Corrections Association. Could be he wants to free up some more of that vast prison space via a few more lethal injections.

Sources also say that Billy Frist will be at the regal event. You may have heard that Dr. Frist is almost as unpopular in Tennessee as Bushie.

Stay tuned for more news of the protest. It's not a secret, so tell everyone you know!
