[bump]Nashville NOW and Tennessee Guerilla Women will hold a demonstration outside the Justice Sunday II carnival here in Nashville to make the point that there are many of us who are not pleased to have our town invaded by holier-than-thou fundies.
The cast of characters scheduled to perform at this Cotton Matheresque event include: Phyllis Schlafly, Tom Delay, Zell Miller, Tony Perkins, James Dobson, Chuck Colson, Bill Donohue, and Bishop Harry Jackson Jr.
We are especially looking forward to 'welcoming' Phyllis Schlafly, the woman who has been termed 'the Trent Lott of gender equality.'
If you would like to join us, see the details below.

From Cynthia Bennett of Nashville NOW:
People who want to join us should think about carpooling. They can park in the Music Valley area or along some of the streets, Pleasant Green Road or Pennington Bend Road. We will be gathering around the entrance to the Church near Pennington Bend Road and the Waffle House. I would not suggest parking at the Waffle house.
We plan on beginning to gather around 4:00pm or so. They have asked everyone to be in their seats by 5:30; their event starts at 6:00 Nashville time (central). I think if we are going to stand as witnesses in 'welcoming' them we need to begin by 4:00. Of course, people can join as they have time. We will probably leave around 6:00 pm or so, depending on what is happening.
Bring your own sign OR use one provided when you get there. Shorter slogans in large letters can be read better. The church is located just east of Briley Parkway and south of McGavock Pike. There is an entrance to the grounds opposite Pennington Bend Road and the Waffle House. There is another "front" entrance opposite Pleasant Green Road. It is possible that police will ban parking in certain areas and that Secret Service could be guarding Tom Delay.
