What Does It Mean When the Wall Street Journal Praises Your Democratic Governor?

What does it mean when the conservative Wall Street Journal thinks your Democratic Governor is the cat's meow? It means Governor Bredesen is no Democrat.

According to a columnist in the conservative Wall Street Journal, Bush picked the wrong Tennessean to weigh in on Medicaid reform. The columnist thinks Bush should have picked Governor Phil Bredesen because the conservative columnist agrees completely with the health care policy of the Democratic Governor.

Well, yeah, Bredesen is more popular with the state's Republicans than Democrats or Independents. Bredesen has compared Medicaid to socialism. Bredesen's health care policy prioritizes saving money over saving lives.

According to the "Democratic" Governor, the millions of dollars in the state's Rainy Day Fund are for something other than health care. Presumably there is something more important than saving the health and lives of the states elderly, sick, disabled and poor.

If I were to model myself after the Governor by having similar priorities in my home, people would call me nasty names. And I would deserve them.

So, yeah, next time Bush wants a good Republican lackey, he should look to Phil Bredesen.

Hey Governor Bredesen, I have a new campaign slogan for you:

Phil Bredesen, Making Republicans Look Good. . .
