Bush Administration Explains: More Killing Will "Lay the Foundation for Peace"
The latest U.S. assault on Iraq - Operation Swarmer - is being called the biggest assault since the U.S. invaded Iraq in 2003. Presumably, the thinking is that yet more shock, awe and death will get Bushie's poll numbers up. Certainly, the endless stream of speeches by the Chimp-in-Chief haven't worked.
Maybe more killing will do the trick.
Meanwhile Scotty McClellan explains (press conference on CNN now) that this new fit of killing is "laying the foundation for peace."
Like Orwell said, you can't make this stuff up.

BAGHDAD, Iraq - U.S. forces, joined by Iraqi troops, on Thursday launched the largest air assault since the U.S.-led invasion, targeting insurgent strongholds north of the capital, the military said.
The U.S. military said the offensive, dubbed Operation Swarmer, was aimed at clearing “a suspected insurgent operating area” northeast of Samarra and was expected to continue over several days.
“More than 1,500 Iraqi and Coalition troops, over 200 tactical vehicles, and more than 50 aircraft participated in the operation,” the military statement said.
The third anniversary of the U.S. invasion of Iraq is this weekend, and it will be marked by numerous peace marches, including: Peace Marches in Nashville and Chattanooga.
