White House Bashes Liberal Base, Again

In an apparent effort to further alienate the base, Robert Gibbs takes a shot at liberals who dare to criticize Obama for his abject failure to fight for progressive policies. Gibbs can't understand why liberals don't roll over and adore the Hyde Amendment embracing President. What's to criticize about the President who transformed the term 'fierce advocate' into a joke?

The important question here is how can you call yourself a progressive and not be disgusted with the president who promised the moon, but wouldn't spend a lousy dime of his political capital on even a public option?

They will be satisfied when we have Canadian healthcare and we’ve eliminated the Pentagon. That’s not reality. They wouldn’t be satisfied if Dennis Kucinich was president.”

GLENN GREENWALD: Robert Gibbs attacks the fringe losers of the left: "Robert Gibbs . .is here to tell you that the real reason you're dissatisfied with the President is because you're a fringe, ideological, Leftist extremist ingrate who needs drug counseling."

Jane Hamsher: Tribalism is the Last Refuge of Political Scoundrels, Including Robert Gibbs: "Spiro Agnew — sorry, Robert Gibbs — says “the professional left is not representative of the progressives who organized, campaigned, raised money and ultimately voted for Obama.” Well, the Obama in the White House is not representative of the Obama who organized, campaigned, raised money and ran for office, so I guess its’ a wash."

Gawker: White House All Sad About Whiny Liberals

"Well, the first thing I'd do as president is, is sign the Freedom of Choice Act. That's the first thing that I'd do."
