Nashville School Named for Confederate Hero May Get Name Change

For all these many years, I had no idea that Wharton was named after a confederate hero, and my children attended the school! Wharton is getting a major upgrade and will likely be renamed after a local African-American hero. An especially good idea because the school is, and I think always has been, predominately black.

A predominately black public school named after a confederate hero. Gawd. If we named our predominately white schools after confederate heroes we would be sick. Clearly someone was deranged. The proposed new name: “Robert Churchwell Museum Magnet Elementary School.”
