File this one in that bursting-at-the-seams Up-Is-Down folder. It seems like only yesterday when the Right ridiculed the Left for paying attention to language. Objections to words like "retarded" were scoffed at by the Right as silly "political correctness." But these days, the Right blasts the Left for sexist language and Sarah Palin does us all a favor by slamming Obama's number one man Rahm Emanuel for using the "sick and offensive" term "retarded," as in "F***ing retarded:"
Sarah Palin is calling on President Obama to fire his chief of staff Rahm Emanuel for using the phrase “f—ing retarded” in a meeting with liberal allies. Writing on Facebook, Palin said, “Rahm’s slur on all God’s children with cognitive and developmental disabilities – and the people who love them – is unacceptable, and it’s heartbreaking.”
The term "retarded" was condemned by liberals way back in the 1970s. But then, Rahm is clearly no liberal. The famously foul-mouthed centrist Rahm Emanuel has acknowledged calling liberals "f***king retarded" and apologized. Rahm's apology was Not directed at liberals:
