MSNBC Adds Ed Schultz Show & Bumps Shuster to Pink Collar Ghetto
MSNBC has added Ed Shultz to its prime time lineup because you can't have too many men on prime time cable news. Nor can you have too many loud-mouth brutes. Okay, I'm going to try to put aside my intense dislike for Shultz's brutish style and give his show a chance. But Ed Shultz is no Rachel Maddow. And the new lineup does nothing to persuade women to give MSNBC another chance.
"The Ed Show" begins Monday at 6PM EST. David Shuster will be banished to MSNBC's pink collar ghetto of daytime programming. Gee, I wonder if Shuster gets paid the same as the women. The mission to make Shuster spend time with women will bump him back to the 3-5 p.m. slot -- where he will co-host a show with Tamron Hall. Norah O'Donnell will be moved to the morning lineup. As yet, no one knows the hour.
