Today Obama announced that Nancy DeParle will be the nation's Health Care Czar. She will head the new White House Office of Health Reform:
DeParle, 52, oversaw the Medicare and Medicaid programs, among other duties, during the Clinton administration. The new post will head the office charged with leading Obama's efforts to overhaul the nation's health care system.
DeParle is a graduate of the University of Tennessee, and she served as Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Human Services in the Cabinet of Democratic Governor Ned McWherter.
Update: New York Times reporter Jason DeParle is Nancy's husband.
