Gender and the Press Conference
Well it's not the Middle East. There are women in the room. The male President took questions from 10 male reporters and 3 women.
Not that we can blame this all on Obama. As you can see from the photos, the people in charge of the media could barely find 3 women to send to the president's press conference.
[T]he list of reporters [who asked questions] in order: Jennifer Loven (AP), Chuck Todd (NBC), Jake Tapper (ABC), Chip Reid (CBS), Lourdes Meluza (Univision), Kevin Baron (Stars and Stripes), Ed Henry (CNN), Major Garrett (Fox News), Mike Allen (POLITICO), Kevin Chappell (Ebony), Ann Compton (ABC Radio), Jon Ward (Washington Times) and Stephen Collinson (AFP).
