Kate Winslet was the big winner last night. She won double Golden Globes -- one for best supporting actress in The Reader. And she won for best actress in Revolutionary Road - wherein Winslet plays a woman caught on the pages of Betty Friedan's Feminine Mystique. Ah yes, life before second wave feminism. Goddess love her, Winslet did her homework and read the book.
Until last night, Kate Winslet had lost the Golden Globe award 5 times!! Winslet's words of acceptance were disarming, to say the least. While it appeared that some Golden Globe winners knew their fate in advance, not so with Kate Winslet.
"You have to forgive me!" Kate Winslet gasped, thunderstruck . . I have a habit of not winning things," she explained breathlessly.
