Obama Gets Personal:
"I understand that Senator Clinton, periodically when she’s feeling down, launches attacks as a way of trying to boost her appeal."
-- Barack Obama
Hillary launches attacks when she's feeling down? Periodically? Okay, I get it. Other candidates may criticize their opponents, or launch attacks, because that’s what you do in presidential politics, but when Hillary criticizes or attacks Obama, it’s because her emotions have gotten the best of her. It's because she’s feeling down. She’s PMS-ing.
Can you imagine Obama pulling this crap on John Edwards? Or John McCain?
I understand that Senator McCain, periodically when he’s feeling down, launches attacks as a way of trying to boost his appeal.
Gawd. The boys would laugh him out of the club. This is only the number one sexist stereotype, the number one reason throughout all time why a woman could never ever be president of these United States of America. Cause in cowboy country, everybody knows that women are ruled by emotions. We’re hormonal. The superior menz are rational. Or so the philosopher kings have told us throughout the ages.
And this from a man assumed to be fully in command of the English language. Is this how Obama talks on those rare occasions when he is NOT in front of a teleprompter? Or is this how Obama talks after months of hopelessly ridiculous adulation from the fawning media and the adoring multitudes?
Congrats, Senator Obama. You haven’t even gotten the nomination yet, and already the orgy of adulation has gone to your head. Chris Matthews is totally sending you an invite to his show.
MSNBC reporters Norah O'Donnell and Andrea Mitchell:
Nora O'Donnell: "He said, 'I understand when she's down, that she makes these kinds of attacks.' It's getting a little personal."
Andrea Mitchell: "It's getting a little personal and, very frankly, you know how deeply we interpreted every comment to look for some sort of racial motivation before South Carolina. A lot of people said it was there. But, you know, when you start describing a female candidate as being 'down' and 'striking back,' I don't know, that's a little edgy, don't you think?"
Nora O'Donnell: "Yeah. And I think there's gonna be a lot more comments about that."
Obama Talkin' About Hillary:
"You're likable enough, Hillary."
"You challenge the status quo and suddenly the claws come out."
"I have no doubt that I can get the people who vote for Senator Clinton. It's not clear that Senator Clinton can get all the people I'm getting."
"Hollering at Republicans and engaging in petty partisan politics didn't help health care get done."
"It's true. I give a good speech. What can I do?"
