Who Scheduled Fred Thompson's Florida Speech at Nap Time?

Freddie Thompson is Too Tired to be President

Low energy Fred Thompson stunned the crowd of Florida Republicans with a 4 minute speech. But it wasn't Freddie's fault that somebody scheduled his speech at nap time. In the following video (41 sec), Fox News tags the former Tennessee senator's Florida speech as "too short, disappointing and embarrassing."

Freddie Was Flat-Out Tired in Florida

Orlando Sentinel -- Freddie was too tired in Florida:

Republican presidential candidate Fred Thompson surprised most everybody Saturday by speaking for less than five minutes before he thanked the assembled GOP masses and ambled offstage.

Thompson's speech was so short -- 4 min. and 37 seconds -- some people in the crowd mistook his conclusion as just an applause line. . . [P]eople were talking more about how little Thompson said than what he said. That's the sort of distraction no campaign wants to deal with on a big political weekend -- especially a campaign that has been portrayed, at times, as not particulary energetic.

The Caucus -- For Thompson, It Was Florida in Four Minutes:

Mr. Thompson walked slowly onto the stage, kissed his wife, Jerri, on the cheek, made a joke or two, claimed to be a “consistent conservative” — and said good night. He spoke for four minutes. “I was really kind of shocked,” said Linda Hoffman, 47, who wore stickers for all the candidates on her blazer, reflecting her indecision. “We were all hoping he would say something we could get behind, but there was nothing.”

Let's hope Freddie got enough sleep for the big Fox News debate in Florida tonight (8 p.m. Eastern)!
