Petraeus Shamaeus or Petraeus Betray-Us

I guess you heard that after Petraeus Shamaeus testifies before Congress today, the Commander Guy's man will be heading on over to Fox News for an exclusive interview with the folks who matter most. That way Dick won't ever have to change the channel.

Despite the inconvenient truth that the number of Americans who actually believe that the Surge is working is under 30 percent, General Petraeus will today make the case for the opposite view in what has been termed Petraeus's "Powell" Moment.

Some 70 percent of Iraqi's say the Surge is a failure, nearly 60 percent view attacks on the U.S. forces "as justified," and 78 percent say “things are going badly for the country overall,” but none of that matters because it's not like Iraq is a democracy like the United States of W or anything.

Petraeus Shamaeus is also known as Petraeus Betray Us (Full page Moveon.org Ad in today's New York Times: Cooking the books for the White House). The rightwing RedState blog is enraged and counters with a Stand By Our Man Petition. [via ]

Over at Think Progress we found this inconvenient video: ‘Petraeus Report: Crisis In Confidence.’ The National Security Network interviewed top national security experts, including former Bush administration counterterrorism analysts Richard Clarke and Rand Beers, to get their perspective on Petraeus’ testimony. “It’s going to be written by the White House. It’s going to be edited by the White House,” Clarke says of Petraeus’ “report.” Beers adds, “I think it’s a political document and I don’t think you can see it in any other way.”

And in honor of Petraeus Shamaeus, check out Shock Me Dave Petraeus from the folks who brought you Wish You Were Gore -- the Vast Left Wing Conspiracy.

Shock Me Dave Petraeus - Listen here.

It's a great song, but I am waiting for the sequel: Shock Me Democrats!
