Kos on Harold Ford's Far-Right Stomping Grounds

Don't forget the Kos vs. Harold Ford Face Off on Meet the Press

Harold Ford is all over the conservative map this week. Taking snipes at liberals and the netroots and trying to persuade anyone who will listen to him that he and the DLC are too relevant!

As Markos observes, Ford claims to be fighting for the future of the Democratic Party, yet he's always doing his fighting over there on conservative turf.

Markos writes:

For someone who thinks he's engaged in a debate about the Democratic Party's future, Harold Ford sure is taking his message to odd places. He's been on Fox News (including Bill O'Reilly's show) to tsk tsk those crazy radical leftists. And today, he makes an appearance in the far-right Wall Street Journal editorial pages.

So for someone who is supposedly trying to influence the debate, it's odd that he's making his arguments in conservative circles. . .

The DLC's strategy has long been to sit on the sidelines doing nothing, then taking credit for every victorious Democrat. They did this with Bill Clinton. They tried to do it with Barack Obama, forcing Obama to twice demand that the DLC take his name off their website. They did it with Ohio Rep. Tim Ryan, who also had to demand to be taken off their site.
