Sinator Vitter Issues Challenge to Larry Flynt

Senator Vitter finally came out of hiding last night. The Republican -- who once suggested that Bill Clinton was "morally unfit to govern" -- was arrogant and even defiant.

In a five minute press conference, Vitter said God and his wife have forgiven him, and now he needs to get back to work. But the nosy media and his political enemies are making his life so very difficult, said the pitiful Senator.

Vitter didn't say anything about the law forgiving him. And if family values Vitter didn't want the media pursuing him, maybe he shouldn't have hid out for seven days.

Senator Vitter trotted out his wife. She stood by her man; she said all the right words. She said he is her best friend, and her marriage is stronger than ever. But if Wendy Vitter's body language is any indication, she is struggling mightily with her Lorena Bobbitt urge.

Vitter said the stories about sex with prostitutes in New Orleans are not true -- only the stories about sex with prostitutes in DC are true.

Larry Flynt is on the case: "Flynt’s team is currently continuing its investigation into improprieties by Vitter."

After lashing out at the press, the morally superior senator refused to answer any and all questions. Senator Vitter wants to get on with his family values career.

Good luck with that.

Outside the press conference, College Republicans passed out statements calling for Vitter's resignation.
