Richardson in Tennessee, But Dems Like Gore More
New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson spoke to Tennessee Democrats yesterday at the annual Jackson Day fundraiser. The Democratic presidential contender expressed his desire for support from Tennessee Dems, while acknowledging that he does not possess the star power or the millions held by first tier candidates.
Bill Richardson got his biggest applause from Tennessee Democrats when he praised Al Gore.
"'Let's not overdo it,' Richardson joked. 'I don't want him in this race!'"
