First Public Space for Feminist Art
This country's very first public space dedicated to feminist art will become a reality on March 23, 2007.
There's progress for you.
Another 250 years or so, and who knows, the U.S. Constitution may actually acknowledge that there are, um, women in this country. Or maybe not.
The Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art will be housed in the Brooklyn Museum in Brooklyn, New York.
The centerpiece of the refuge for feminist art will be Judy Chicago's legendary The Dinner Party.
The Dinner Party honors the the lives and contributions of 1,038 foresisters who, like virtually all women, have been erased from mainstream historical accounts.
But hey, what's to be angry about?
