Bush Performs As Idiot At Putin Press Conference

Gawd! Did you see the Putin and Bush press conference? The Commander-In-Idiocy never stops. Just when you think the swaggering cowboy can't embarrass you any more:

During a press conference today at the G8 summit in Russia, President Bush told President Vladimir Putin that Americans want Russia to develop a free press and free religion “like Iraq.” To laughter and applause, Putin responded: “We certainly would not want to have same kind of democracy as they have in Iraq, quite honestly.” CNN’s Ed Henry called it a “tough jab.” Watch it.

At the outset of the conference, I was dumbstruck to hear Captain Bush refer to Putin as Mr. President. The braggart from Texas is in the habit of making it clear that he is the biggest cock on the world stage by referencing world leaders by their first name. While they, of course, perform the obligatory show of deference and reference the biggest cock as President Bush.

That scenario was played out in the recent press conference with the Canadian Prime Minister in which Dubya repeatedly referred to Stephen Harper as "Steve," even though no one calls Prime Minister Harper "Steve" because his name is Stephen.

But I digress. At some point in the conference, Putin must have decided he'd had enough of Dubya's arrogance. He stopped referring to Bushie as President Bush, and instead called him George. You guessed it, Bushie quickly dropped his newfound show of respect and immediately quacked, Vladimir this, and Vladimir that.

Fortunately, the Idiot refrained from using his nickname for Putin - Pootie-Poot. But since Putin actually reads newspapers, for sure he knows what Georgie calls him behind his back. Cowboy diplomacy? There is nothing diplomatic about the Idiotic Decider.
