Quote of the Day: Unchecked Bush Power

So wrote Justice O'Connor in the lead opinion in Hamdi et al. v. Rumsfeld, Secretary Of Defense, et al. In the 2004 case, "eight of nine justices rejected the administration's position that the courts had no oversight role in the imprisonment of U.S. citizens as enemy combatants."

But if the Constitution can't stop the wannabe monarch, why in this bleakest of worlds should we believe the High Court can?
