Meanwhile the Harriet Miers blog has set up a petition asking the folks at WithdrawMiers.org to take down their site, cause "it's NOT NICE," among other reasons, heh.
In a more serious vein, Taegard Goddard cites an "insider source" in a post theorizing that Bush's refusal to hand over White House papers about Miers amounts to a face saving tactic that will enable Bush to dump Miers.
UPDATE: In an email message addressed to yours truly, Harriet Miers responds to the charge that Bush plans to dump her:
Hi everyone!! Its Harriet! I don't think the President would ever turn his back on his friend, let alone a BFF like me. So there's no way I won't get confirmed. UNLESS... unless he had even bigger things in mind!! For example, co-President. Wait, is that Constitutional.
