Bush Sends Bombs to Israel, 'Humanitarian' Aid to Lebanon
Here's Condi Rice in Beirut modeling the latest fashion for Manipulating-the-People Photo Ops. Aren't you in awe of her bravery? Or, maybe you just like that casual shades-not-bombs-on-the-head look?
No word yet on whether Bush plans to fly over Beirut to survey the damage. The compassionate pResident remains opposed to an immediate ceasefire, but only days after rushing bombs to Israel, Dubya says he is sending 'humanitarian' aid to Lebanon.
Humanitarian aid to Lebanon, bombs to Israel. Some might call that a mexed missage.
I'm no longer sure what 'humanitarian' means. The Bush Department of Newspeak hasn't told me yet.
So, until Lebanon, and the world, receives interplanetary aid, face it folks, we are all screwed.
Or, as Rami G. Khouri, editor-at-large of the Beirut-based Daily Star, says: "[W]e now have three Arab countries where American policies and arms have played a major role in promoting chaos, disintegration, mass death and suffering: Iraq, Palestine and Lebanon. You can watch them burn—live on your television sets."
