Bush: God Made Me Invade Iraq - Update

[Scroll down for an update on Bush's dilusions of godly grandeur.]

And all this time, I thought it was Karl Rove who made Bush invade Iraq. Turns out it was God. No, this story is not from the National Enquirer, and, yes, this is our President, sent here by God to entertain and terrorize the world.

Maybe it will all become clear when BBC airs the forthcoming series revealing that Bush tells the leaders of the world that he has an inside track to GOD. Words fail. It's that old Outrage Fatigue Syndrome.

But listen to the song, "When the President Speaks to God," while you weep.

I wonder why God has sent Bush's approval ratings to the toilet? The latest CBS poll puts the Chosen One's approval rating at 37%. Dubya needs to talk to God about that and a few other little problems like the absolute disaster of his reign.

From BBC:

God told me to invade Iraq, Bush tells Palestinian ministers

President George W Bush told Palestinian ministers that God had told him to invade Afghanistan and Iraq - and create a Palestinian State, a new BBC series reveals.

In Elusive Peace: Israel and the Arabs, a major three-part series on BBC TWO (at 9.00pm on Monday 10, Monday 17 and Monday 24 October), Abu Mazen, Palestinian Prime Minister, and Nabil Shaath, his Foreign Minister, describe their first meeting with President Bush in June 2003.

UPDATE: That bastion of truth, the White House, says it ain't so. Scott McClellan says, "That's absurd. He's never made such comments." There are a lot of things about Bush that are unbelievable, but that he thinks he talks to God is not one of them. Bush not only thinks he speaks to God, he thinks he was chosen by God.

This is certainly not the first time Bush's dilusions of godly grandeur have been reported.

Last year, Bush reportedly told an Amish gathering: "I trust God speaks through me. Without that, I couldn’t do my job."

According to Sojourner Magazine, "As he gained political power, Bush has increasingly seen his presidency as part of that divine plan. Richard Land, of the Southern Baptist Convention, recalls Bush once saying, "I believe God wants me to be president." After Sept. 11, Michael Duffy wrote in Time magazine, the president spoke of "being chosen by the grace of God to lead at that moment." (hat tip to Blondesense)

Actually, the only rational explanation for Bush's irrational behavior is that the man is bat-shit crazy and suffers from dilusions of godly grandeur. Or, as Shakespeare's Sister says, "our president is in dire need of some antipsychotics." Awomyn!
